Incident at the Port of Portland

EPA continues to support the clean up of a chemical spill at the Port of Portland. The control of the incident is transitioning from response to recovery. This is being led by Victoria Police before being handed over to Koppers. Any residents experiencing poor odour should contact the EPA pollution hotline on 1300 372 842.

19 February

EPA Victoria is assisting the Country Fire Authority with respect to a chemical spill at the Port of Portland. CFA air monitoring has detected no toxic vapours and CFA are providing regular updates, including details of community meetings, at their website www.cfa.vic.gov.au.

EPA received four odour complaints following the incident.
