29 Apr 2014

EPA Victoria has today released the updated Annoyed by noise? – a guide to dealing with residential noise publication. Annoyed by Noise has been developed to help you find the best way to address common residential noise issues.

Residential noise significantly disturbs around 770,000 Victorians each year and Section 48A of the Environment Protection Act 1970 (EP Act) makes it an offence to cause unreasonable noise from any residential premises.

Annoyed by noise? will help you to understand residential noise and the law, how to get help from police or council, understand the impacts of noise and detail any noise that may be unreasonable at prohibited times. It also provides tips on how to reduce noise and how to approach your neighbour if noise is a problem.
