Wodonga Saleyards on notice over odour

18 Aug 2014

Residents of Baranduda have reported ongoing offensive odour impacts on their community from local industry.

Residents have a right to live in a community that’s not impacted by the activities of industry.

As such, EPA has investigated several possible odour sources, one of which was the Wodonga Saleyards, owned by Regional Infrastructure.

EPA has issued a Pollution Abatement Notice (Notice) requiring the operator modify waste management practices, including management of cattle manure, spent feed and truck wash waste, so that offensive odours aren’t discharged beyond the boundary of the premises by 8 September.

EPA will continue to monitor compliance at this site.

Report Pollution on 1300 EPA VIC (1300 372 842).
