EPA officers have visited two businesses, Boral Deer Park and Pinegro, as part of ongoing investigations into the odour issues being experienced by residents of Caroline Springs.
A number of potential odour sources were identified at the sites.
EPA is working with the businesses to find solutions to these potential issues and will issue formal notices reflecting the agreed actions.
While these sites may be contributing to the odour experienced by residents, we will continue to monitor the situation to identify other possible sources.
Based on our experience with complex odour issues, it is expected that there will be a combination of short term and longer term work required.
We will continue to rely on the community to help us gauge the effectiveness of the solutions.
