EPA continues investigation of fish death incident at Kilmore Creek

15 Apr 2015

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is currently investigating the cause of a fish death incident at Kilmore Creek, Kilmore.

About 50 fish were found earlier this week at the council reserve, on the corner of White and Piper streets, Kilmore.

EPA is working with Goulburn Valley Water to clean up the dead fish and is continuing its monitoring of the waterway, which includes testing samples of water from the creek; results of tests are expected in the coming days.

Signs have been erected by Mitchell Shire Council warning the public to avoid contact with the creek and advising that livestock be kept away.

Local drinking supplies are not affected.

EPA encourages members of the public to report suspected pollution of the environment to EPA on 1300 372 842.
