EPA notified of treated water discharge into Werribee River

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has been notified by Western Region Water Corporation of a discharge of treated water from its South Melton plant into the Werribee River.

EPA has noted that Western Region Water Corporation has a monitoring program designed to monitor the impacts of the discharge to the receiving environment.

EPA is in the process of conducting an investigation into a possible breach of Western Region Water Corporation's licence.
