Pilot program to recognise excellence

4 Feb 2015

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is piloting a new approach to recognise and reward licensee excellence.

Open to EPA accredited and eligible licence holders from the Victorian water industry, the pilot program will test the concepts of earned autonomy by offering scaled benefits to participants based on their environmental rating.

The scaled benefits aim to give industry an incentive to raise the standards of environmental performance by recognising and rewarding those that are strong performers in meeting or exceeding compliance obligations and demonstrate environmental citizenship in their business.

EPA will identify high performers amongst existing accredited licences and invite them to take part in the pilot program.

The program, which will run until April 2016, is the result of a major commitment of EPA’s approvals reform project to develop an alternative program to reward excellence.
