Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) predicts water quality in Melbourne’s waterways and beaches will be impacted by this weekend’s heavy rainfall. Stormwater from drains, rivers and streams entering the bay is the major factor affecting beach water quality.
As a precaution, people should avoid swimming at beaches or near stormwater drains, rivers, streams and other waterways during and for 24-48 hours after rainfall.
