EPA celebrates official opening of Traralgon office

20 Jul 2015

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) will celebrate the official opening of its new Traralgon office today.

EPA Gippsland Regional Manager, Emily Sanders said the event would offer local community, industry representatives and EPA staff an opportunity to recognise a shared commitment to working together to protect the region’s environment.

“The official opening of our new EPA office in the heart of Traralgon is not so much about a new building – it’s about EPA saying, ‘we’re here for the long haul’,” she said.

“EPA has a long standing presence in Gippsland and over the decades we have worked hard to protect the environment and the local community from pollution.

“During that time we have listened to the community and our service continues to change to meet the needs of the people of Gippsland.

“There is more work to be done and our staff are looking forward to forging even stronger connections with the community to reduce environmental risks across the region.”

Ms Sanders said the event allowed guests to view the new facilities, meet with senior EPA staff and take the time to talk about the environment in Gippsland.

“EPA will continue to build on its capacity to respond to the region’s environmental needs,” she said.

Ms Sanders will officially open the Seymour Street office alongside EPA’s CEO, Nial Finegan and Chairman, Cheryl Batagol.

The new building also houses Department of Health and Human Services staff.

The address for the new Gippsland office is Level 2, 8-12 Seymour Street, Traralgon. To contact EPA Victoria, please click here for information on all its offices:
