Environmental auditors appointed by Environment Protection Authority Victoria

18 Jun 2015

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has appointed five new environmental auditors to provide valued technical advice on the investigation and remediation of sites around Victoria.

Environmental auditors are highly qualified and skilled individuals with at least eight years or more experience in environmental science and/or engineering and environmental auditing. They provide independent advice on whether there is a need or opportunity for improving the environmental quality of a site or industrial process with respect to pollution.

For the first time, the appointment of environmental auditors in Victoria has been aligned with EPA NSW’s site auditor scheme. After reviewing the appointment requirements, both EPA Victoria and EPA NSW agreed on the inclusion of a three-hour written examination to the process.

Successful candidates progressed through a four-stage application process, including a written examination and a round of interviews, all of which will help ensure a consistent approach to the selection of high quality auditors.

Victoria’s newest environmental auditors are:

  • Stephen Cambridge / Coffey
  • Doug Ahearne / Senversa
  • Steve Bos / Prensa
  • Alex Blount / Golder Associates
  • Darren Bennetts / Peter J Ramsay & Assoc

Under the Environment Protection Act, EPA appoints environmental auditors and is responsible for regulating their conduct.
