Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has been notified by Australian Paper of a spill of liquid from its trade waste system at its Maryvale Mill located in Gippsland, 160km east of Melbourne.
EPA has been advised liquid waste, produced as part of the paper making process, has been released into a billabong system at the site.
EPA Authorised Officers are currently at the paper mill investigating whether any waste has left the site and to provide advice on the most appropriate clean-up method.
