Relocation day for EPA Gippsland team

21 May 2015

It’s relocation day for Environment Protection Authority Victoria’s (EPA) Gippsland staff as they pack up their boxes and move into their new offices in Traralgon.

Located in Seymour Street, the multi-purpose, open plan building houses an onsite lab, video conferencing and a large conference room ideal for community consultation.

EPA Gippsland Regional Manager Emily Sanders said the new office would further assist EPA to better service the region.

“The new office has the space and facilities to host events, allowing us to meet and work with the community to ensure EPA continues to effectively respond to the needs of the Gippsland community,” Ms Sanders said.

“The Traralgon office is one of six EPA offices, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to reducing environmental risk across the state.

“EPA has been based in Gippsland for many years and is working to ensure it has a strong relationship with the local community, local business and tackles the region’s highest priorities.”

Ms Sanders says the building had been designed and built to achieve a five-star Green Star rating together with four-and-a-half star energy and four-star water rating by the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS).

Other features include locally manufactured workstations, reclaimed timber flooring and meeting tables, and living green walls and hanging plants to help improve indoor air quality.

The new office will see EPA co-located with Department of Health and Human Services staff.

The address for the new Gippsland office is 8-12 Seymour Street, Traralgon. To contact EPA Victoria, please click here for information on all its offices:
