EPA warns of elevated bacteria levels in Yarra River

7 Apr 2016

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) testing has indicated elevated levels of bacteria in the Yarra River at both Warrandyte and Kew due to recent heavy rainfall.

EPA advises against swimming and other recreational activities for 24 to 48 hours after rain to reduce risks to health. Temporary signage is being installed at the Yarra River in Warrandyte to inform visitors of the risks.

More updates can be viewed on the Yarra Watch website and via EPA on Twitter.
