Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) advises that periods of poor air quality are likely in Brooklyn until Tuesday afternoon, especially during mornings.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast consistent northerly winds of up to 55 kilometres per hour that are expected to blow dust emissions from the Brooklyn industrial estate to nearby residential areas to the south.
EPA has contacted industry in the area and urged it to implement dust management plans to ensure businesses do not contribute to poor air quality in the area.
