Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) advises that periods of poor air quality are likely in Brooklyn this morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast northerly winds of up to 46km/hr. Northerly winds are often associated with poor air quality in Brooklyn.
EPA has contacted industry in the area and urged it to implement dust management plans to ensure businesses do not contribute to poor air quality in the area.
The alert, including health advice, was also sent to local schools and kindergartens.
