EPA encourages attendance at information sessions

17 Jun 2016

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is encouraging the community to drop in at any time to two information sessions to discuss Landfill Operations’ (Cleanaway) proposal to extend its Melbourne Regional Landfill at Ravenhall.

The information sessions will be held this Sunday, 19th June between 11am-4pm and on Monday 20th June between 2pm-8pm at WestWaters Hotel & Entertainment Complex, 10-20 Lake Street, Caroline Springs, 3023.

EPA Development Assessments Manager, Tim Faragher said community members were still able to attend the sessions even if they missed the opportunity to formally RSVP this week.

“The sessions are a great opportunity for people to come in and view information about the proposal, the joint process for the planning permit and works approval applications and how to get involved. We encourage those interested to come along,” he said.

“Officers from EPA and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) will be at the sessions to help people understand the processes and to answer any questions the community might have.”

“Those unable to attend the information sessions will not miss out on the opportunity to make their views known and can make a written submission until 5pm Friday 15 July.”

Please RSVP (if possible but not necessary) for the information session by email: mrlinfosession@epa.vic.gov.au or call 1300 372 842 (1300 EPA VIC).

Information is available on both the DELWP and EPA websites that explains the process for making a submission.
