Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has launched an investigation into a significant spill of treated wastewater in Gippsland.
EPA was notified of the spill by Gippsland Water. EPA officers visited the site to oversee cleanup efforts and commence an investigation.
The spill occurred south of Rosedale, caused by a break in Gippsland Water’s Regional Outfall System pipeline. The spill is estimated to be approximately 5 - 10 megalitres.
Gippsland Water has been working to stop and contain the spill, and commence cleanup. Further information can be found on Gippsland Water’s website.
