EPA to relocate Richmond air monitoring station

16 Sep 2016

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is looking for a new home for its Richmond air monitoring station after 16 years’ service at its current location.

A new site is needed due to accessibility issues at the existing site; however, interim monitoring equipment will be installed in a location near Melbourne’s CBD that will monitor small particles known as PM2.5 as a priority.

Until the new location is confirmed, air monitoring from Richmond will not appear on EPA’s AirWatch website.

Air quality concerns can be reported at any time to EPA by calling 1300 EPA VIC (372 842).

EPA is currently evolving its air monitoring network to make it a more mobile network across the state, measuring air quality beyond Melbourne, Geelong and the Latrobe Valley.
