EPA commences community consultation

21 Apr 2017

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is inviting community members and industry and government partners to play a role in planning for its future following reforms announced by the Victorian Government.

Announced in January, the reforms aim to ensure EPA is capable of meeting new and future environmental challenges – shifting its focus onto prevention and strengthening its scientific base.

EPA Chief Executive Officer, Nial Finegan said members of the community could have their say on EPA’s priorities, goals and values by attending one of eight consultation sessions across Victoria over the next four weeks.

“We’re committed to delivering an EPA that meets the needs of the communities we serve,” Mr Finegan said.

“Already, we’re seeing some significant changes at EPA with the appointment of Victoria’s first Chief Environmental Scientist and the development of an enhanced public health capability.

“Feedback from members of the community and other stakeholders will help guide our goals and priorities and we welcome their involvement,” Mr Finegan said.
