Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has laid five charges against one company and two individuals under the Environment Protection Act 1970 following a comprehensive investigation into an alleged oil spill into the Yarra River at Abbotsford.

The company charged is Porsche Retail Group Australia Pty Ltd

The charges allege that the company and its two Directors polluted the waters and caused or permitted an environmental hazard, which is an offence under section 39(1) and section 27A(1) of the Environment Protection Act 1970 respectively.

As the matter is now before the courts EPA will be making no further comment.
