Bunyip State Forest fires impacting air quality Sunday 930pm
Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) advises that air quality in and around Bunyip State Forest may be unhealthy for sensitive groups due to significant areas of smoke from bushfires.
A recent wind change will see smoke impact the Drouin, Longwarry and Warragul areas and is like to shift towards Tarago and Neerim South as winds move to the south-west tonight (Sunday night).

Flicking cigarette butt out car window a real fire danger and environmental risk: EPA, fire and rescue services say
With Victoria’s fire danger period projected to continue into May, EPA, Metropolitan Fire Brigade and Country Fire Authority are calling for cigarette butt litterers to check their habit, and for members of the community to report this kind of littering.

Hopley told to stop taking building waste
An alleged failure by recycler Hopley of White Hills, Bendigo, to meet the requirements of the Victorian Waste Management Policy (Combustible Recyclable and Waste Materials) has seen Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) issue the company notices that require it to stop accepting combustible recycling materials.

Wiping up $100,000 after Chirnside Park sewage spill
Wet wipes flushed down household toilets have clogged a sewer at Chirnside Park, causing a 700,000 litre spill and costing Yarra Valley Water over $100,000 in court.

The Kyneton Magistrates’ Court has ordered Coliban Water to fund a $100,000 environmental project after a burst pipeline sent sewage flowing into Kyneton’s Post Office Creek, in July 2016.
