Poor water quality for Bay swimmers after heavy rains
All beaches in Port Phillip Bay have been rated poor following last night’s heavy rains. Swimmers should check on water quality reports before swimming at Port Phillip Bay beaches and the Yarra River, says Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) Chief Environmental Scientist Dr Andrea Hinwood.

Do not consume PFAS affected Heart Morass ducks
Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) continues to advise hunters in the Gippsland area not to consume PFAS (per- and poly-fluorinated alkyl substances) affected eel, carp and duck taken from the Heart Morass area. This includes any part of the animals, including duck breast.

EPA fines Cleanaway subsidiary for third time in five months
Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has fined Baxter Business Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd, almost $8000 for failing to cover waste at its Fraser Road landfill in Clayton as required under its EPA licence.
