Licences and approvals

Melbourne Regional Landfill (Cleanaway) archive

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has received a works approval application from Landfill Operations P/L (a wholly owned subsidiary of Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd) to extend its Melbourne Regional Landfill at Ravenhall.

The proposal is for an extension to the existing landfill to continue receiving the same waste types, including the disposal of municipal solid waste, low-level ‘Category C’ contaminated soil and solid inert waste within part of the quarry void resulting from future Boral quarrying operations.

Information sessions in Caroline Springs on 19 and 20 June

The purpose of the sessions was for local community members and interested stakeholders to:

  • learn how they can have a say through providing a submission to the process.

Local community members and interested stakeholders who attended could:

  • ask questions of the proponent about the proposal
  • gain an understanding from EPA and DELWP staff present on the assessment processes.

Local community members and interested stakeholders could drop into the sessions at any time: there were no formal presentations.

Note that the sessions weren’t an opportunity to make a submission to the process or register any objection. Such submissions or objections must be made online at www.delwp.vic.gov.au/ravenhall-landfill-expansion or in writing after calling the DELWP Customer Service Centre on 136 186 to obtain a copy of the submission coversheet.
